Dove Pointe - Leading the way

Traumatic Brain Injury

Our Traumatic Brain Injury (T.B.I.) program serves those individuals over the age of 21 who have experienced a brain injury. Brain injury is defined as an insult to the brain that occurs after birth, for example a serious accident, injury, infection, or other trauma.

Dove Pointe is one of only five providers in the state of Maryland for the TBI Medicaid Waiver, which provides funding to support individuals in both day and residential programs. In these programs, individuals are assisted toward regaining many independent living skills, obtaining employment, and developing a social network.

In group therapy sessions, persons are given the opportunity to share their similar life experiences with each other, and receive guidance from trained staff as they face the many emotional challenges that each new day holds.

Our TBI program continues to grow and change as we strive to meet the needs of each individual we support.
